Eliz abeth (Betty) Marrer, 95, of Binghamton, peace fully passed into her heavenly father's arms on December 26, 2017. Betty was born in Bing hamton on January 6, 1922, to the late Leo and Ella Davis Conaty. She was predeceased by her husband Francis Marrer in 2009; her foster mother Anna McCormack, foster brother Paul McCormack, and foster sis ter Mildred McCormack. Betty is survived by her children George (Jane) Marrer of Hatfield PA, James (Kerry) Marrer of St Cloud MN, Ella (Len) Kelly of Littleton CO, and Mary Marrer of Binghamton NY. Grandchildren Meghan (Adam) Andrew, Sean (Megan) Marrer, Colin Marrer, Bridget (Michael) Stegmeier, Timothy (Laura) Marrer, Margaret Marrer, Brian Marrer, Katherine (Joseph) Valent, and Elizabeth Kelly. Great-grand children Lucas Sparks, Mary Elizabeth and Francis Valent, and Connor and Keira Steigmeier. Betty graduated from Binghamton Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Plattsburgh State Teachers College in 1944 as Valedictorian in Home Economics. Betty was retired from the Binghamton School District where she had been a Home Economics teacher at Benjamin Franklin School and Binghamton Central High School. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of St Louise Manor and Elizabeth Church Manor for their kindness and caring for over 8 years. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. in the Spring. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's name may be made to Mom's House, online or 770 Harry L Drive, Johnson City NY 13790, or to Seton Catholic Central High School Scholarship Fund, 70 Seminary Ave, Binghamton NY 13905. Wherever you may go, whatever you may do, be happy and know I love you.
