Please share a memory of Chester to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Chester Gilbert Kulp, Jr. 85 of Binghamton, NY left us suddenly on Monday, April 17, 2017. Everyone who knew him would agree that he was truly a gentle man. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne (Welch) Kulp, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chet is extremely proud of his daughters, Christine Richardson, Kathleen (Thomas) Surowka, and Peggy (Frank) Zurla. He was also very proud of his grandchildren, Joslyn & Neil Richardson, Frank (Tracy) Zurla, Marcy (Neil) Wesley and Alex Surowka. He is predeceased by his wife, Marilyn (Brefka) Kulp. Chet graduated from Binghamton Central High School, and Albany College of Pharmacy. He served in the United States Army. He owned Community Drugs in Hillcrest, NY and retired from CVS Pharmacy. Chet offered his gentle voice as lector at St. Catherine's and St. Vincent's. He was also member of the St. Vincent's Parish Council, Usher and Men's Club. Chet loved good food, good wine, good books and also loved to hate "hitting the little white ball around with a stick." A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Monday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Chet's memory may be made to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 165 Clifton Boulevard, Vestal, NY 13850.
