James E. Hawley, 87, of Oxford died Saturday August 20, 2016 at the NYS Veterans Home at Oxford. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary Hawley; and his brother, John Hawley. He is survived by several cousins including Phyllis Canny and Maureen Hanifin; the Giblin, Hawley and Lannon families; close friends including Raymond and Katey Nichols and their daughters, Emily and Erin Nichols; and neighbors at Lk. Gerry. He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Church, Norwich. Jim retired from the IBM Corporation after 30 years of service and was a US Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid hunter, fisherman with love of the Adirondacks. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton Wednesday at 11am. Burial will be in St. Augustines Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church Wednesday from 10am until Mass time at 11am.
