George E. Carros, 86, of Binghamton, died Thursday August 18, 2016 at Willow Point Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathryn A. Carros; and a brother, James Carros. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lillian Simkulet Carros; his son, Jay Carros; a grandson, Adrian Floyd Schumacher; two sisters, Jean Connerton, Lorraine and Robert Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. George retired from the IBM Corporation and was an avid NY Yankee Fan. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Friday at 12 Noon. Revered Msgr. Michael T. Meagher will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8pm. Expressions of sympathy in memory of George may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903.
