Rosemary (Telfer) Lafreniere passed into eternal rest on May 26, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Floyd J. Lafreniere. She leaves behind her loving children, David and Nancy Lafreniere of Springfield, VA and Rene Lafreniere and Bill Lake of Binghamton and three grandchildren, Justin Lafreniere, Colin Lake and Danielle Lafreniere. Rosemary was a working mother who held positions at IBM, Willow Run Foods, Broome Community College and SUNY Binghamton. She proudly earned an Associates Degree from Broome Community College. She continued to learn and was an active researcher into family genealogy. Rosemary was a charter member of the Johnson City Elks Lodge #2721. She is also survived by four brothers, John (Marge); Richard (Roberta); Daniel (Evelyn); and Philip (Vallie) Telfer, and two sisters: Delores (Edward, deceased) Trojnar; Kathleen (Mark) Straube and her sister-in-law, Marge Lafreniere. Rosemary will also be remembered by her numerous cousins, extended family and friends, and she will be, forever and always, missed. The family would like to thank Colleen and Susannah for the care and companionship they provided Rosemary over this last year. She was a member of St. James Church, Johnson City. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Johnson City, Tuesday May 31, 2016, 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the J. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Monday, from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local food pantry.
