Judson V. Simons, 77, of Kirkwood, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness Friday, April 29, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jackie; daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Ann and Kevin O'Malley; cherished granddaughters, Cara and Colleen O'Malley; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton. Jud loved his family and was proud of their accomplishments. He will be missed by his faithful feline and canine companions, "Lily" and "Blake". He was predeceased by his parents, Vahloy and Clara Simons; and a brother, Derl Simons. Jud was a proud 4 year veteran of the US Air Force where he served in the Military Police stationed at Francis E. Warren A.F.B. Cheyenne, WY. After his honorable discharge, he worked for General Electric/Lockheed Martin for 25 years. He also worked for Broome County Transit. Jud enjoyed traveling, reading and sports but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends at the family cottage "Solo Pino" at Beaver Lake. The family extends special thanks and appreciation to Lourdes Hospice for the exceptional care he received. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church, 282 Chenango St., Binghamton on Thursday at 10am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's Church on Thursday from 9am until Mass time at 10am. Please no flowers. For those wishing, expressions of sympathy in Jud's memory may be made to St. Paul's Church, 15 Doubleday St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
