Dawn passed away peacefully Thursday April 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness in the company of family and the caring staff at Good Shepherd Village in Endwell, NY. Dawn was 83 years old. Dawn was born May 16th, 1932 to Hugh and Evelyn Kane in Endicott, NY the youngest of 5 siblings. Predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years Bernard, her parents, siblings Cerrilla Kane, Robert 'Bud' Kane, Edward Kane, Anne Kane Donahue, Jack Haggerty, sister in law Theresa Kamp, as well as her niece Kathy Donahue Kudgus. She is survived by her children Patricia and Thomas Crockett, Christopher and Rita Kamp, Theresa Kamp, Timothy and Patricia Kamp. Also by her much loved grandchildren Eran Crockett, Coreen Crockett, Mary Theresa Kamp and Ashley Kamp. Nieces Cherry O'Brien and Bonnie Tanzini, Joel T Peters and longtime best friend and kindred spirit Ruth Donovan Lanuti. Dawn worked for NYSEG Electric, as a loving mother to her four children, a gifted and dedicated homemaker, Grosset and Dunlap, Tallmadge Tire, Broome County Sherriff's office and lastly at her favorite job at Woodfern Florist. Dawn will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, unending devotion to her family and friends, her unparalleled culinary skills and of course her famous brownies. A hard working Irish woman until the very end, the tables at Good Shepherd Village will certainly be a little less polished and the towels a little less crisply folded. The family would like extend a special thank you to the staff, nurses and care takers at Good Shepherd homes on Fairview Avenue and the Villages in Endwell for the care and love provided to our mother through the years and especially during her final days. You have made a difficult time a blessed experience. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Monday at 10 A.M. Rev. John P. Donovan will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday from 2-4 P.M.
