Ann Foley Walters, 81, died peacefully at her home on October 4, 2015 surrounded by her husband and children. Ann was born on July 25, 1934 in Binghamton, New York to the late Dennis B. Foley and Catherine (McGinnis) Foley. She grew up on Chestnut Street and Avon Road in Binghamton and attended St. Patrick's School, where she graduated in 1951. She attended the College of New Rochelle, NY and graduated with an BA in 1955. She married her husband of 58 years Dr. John T. Walters of Endicott, NY on April 27, 1957. She was the mother of 6 children and raised her family in Vestal. Ann was predeceased by her oldest son, Dennis Foley Walters of Boston, her parents, her sisters Catherine Foley Eggleston of Binghamton, NY and Mary Foley Fisher, of Cincinnati, Ohio, her brother Dennis B. Foley, Jr., of Binghamton, NY and her father and mother-in-law, Lawrence A. Walters and Regina M. Walters of Endicott. She is survived by her husband Dr. John T. Walters of Binghamton, her son Kevin Patrick Walters and his wife Diane Dolan Walters of Houston, TX, her grandchildren Emily Elizabeth Walters, Dennis Dolan Walters, Patrick Joseph Walters and Nicole Catherine Walters, all of Houston, her daughter Brigid Foley Guglieimetti-Walters and her husband Louis Guglielmetti of Pleasant Valley, NY, her daughter Mary Grace Walters of Boston, MA, her son John Michael Walters and his wife Joan Peyrebrune Walters of Delmar, her grandchildren John Henry Walters, Margaret Mary Walters and Kevin Joseph Walters, all of Delmar, her daughter Catherine (Kate) Ann Walters of New York City, her sister Jean Foley Burtis and her husband William Burtis of Binghamton and her brother-in-law Robert F. Walters and his wife Lorna Walters of Binghamton. Ann was an active member of St Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Parish, Vestal, NY. She received a Masters Degree in Education from Elmira College and was a reading teacher for several years. She volunteered at Birthright and Samaritan House. Ann was always proud of her Irish heritage and instilled this pride in all her children. Ann was a devout Catholic and passed this devotion onto her children. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent dePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Birthright of Binghamton, Inc., 435 Main Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 or Samaritan House, 11 Fayette Street., Binghamton, NY 13901 in memory of Ann Foley Walters.
